Du Qinfen

Du Qinfen

Born in China in November 1987, Du Qinfen is a talented ceramic artist and a Ph.D. in art theory. She is currently a member of the China Artists Association and the China Arts and Crafts Association.Du Qinfen specializes in the use of contemporary ceramic artifacts and new materials in ceramics, and her works often employ innovative and integrated media such as paper fiber ceramics, refractory stoneware, and scented ash glazes. Her artistic journey began in 2007 when she was admitted to the China Academy of Art, and in 2011 she was exempted from the examination for her master's degree with the first place in her major under the guidance of Prof. Liu Zheng and Prof. Zhou Wu, and in 2012 she participated in the ISSCA Annual Educational Conference at Mediterranean University in Turkey, and in 2013 she participated in the "Ink Measurement and Deepness" exhibition held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Beijing as an emerging ceramist. In 2014, she started working as a professional teacher at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, and in 2018, she participated in the international work camp "Shuru Kiln" in South Korea, and in 2019, she was awarded the annual National Art Foundation Young Artist Program. In 2019, she was awarded the annual National Art Foundation Young Artist Program. Du Qinfen's works have been exhibited in many countries and regions, including mainland China, Taiwan, Macau, and galleries and museums in Japan, Korea, and Turkey. Her works have also been noticed and covered by many art professional and mainstream media, such as Global Art, Artron Art, Xinhua and People's Daily. Her creative concepts and practices continue to push the boundaries of ceramic art and explore new possibilities in materials and techniques.
