Prof. Kim Soon-sik's artistic practice is not limited to the field of traditional ceramics, but he actively explores experimental works using ceramics and mural painting techniques to expand the horizons of modern ceramics.
His artistic philosophy is rooted in an exploration of the nature of matter, where self-discovery is achieved by exploring the fundamental properties of matter and creating a variety of means of expression.Prof. Kim Soon-sik places special emphasis on primitive prehistoric cave paintings. He believes that the earth, water, and air that make up cave paintings are the basis for means of expression that contain questions and answers about nature. Ultimately, his art is an ontological exploration of the universe and nature, including humanity, and he seeks answers through an endless journey of discovery.
