Tan Danwu, born in Hunan, China, is an artist with deep knowledge in sculpture and ceramics. He received his master's degree from the Sculpture Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and is currently teaching at the Jiangxi Jiujiang Academy, while pursuing his doctorate at the Jingdezhen Ceramic University, where he is a member of the China Artists Association and the deputy secretary general of the Experimental Art Committee of the Jiangxi Provincial Artists Association.
Tan Danwu's art practice continues to explore the fusion of tradition and modernity, and his works demonstrate the infinite possibilities of sculpture art with unique perspectives and innovative approaches. His works such as "Twin Towers of Linear City Series" and "Chairs of 'Life Study' Series" demonstrate his mastery of materials and techniques as well as his deep insight into contemporary society and culture.
His works have been exhibited at home and abroad, including "Perspectives - Tan Danwu's Solo Exhibition" at Jiangxi Art Museum, "Infinity - Tan Danwu's Artworks" at Jurassic Gallery in Hong Kong, and "The Unlimited - Tan Danwu's Artworks" at Hong Kong Museum of Fine Arts. -Tan Danwu's Works" at the Jubilee Art Gallery in Hong Kong, and participated in the Ceramic Art Exhibition of the 14th National Art Works Exhibition. His works have been recognized not only in China, but also in Bulgaria, Japan and Korea.
Tan Danwu has received many awards for his artistic creations, including the Dao Art Prize for "Journey of Porcelain - 2023 Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennial" in 2023 and the Bronze Medal for "The Spirit of Porcelain- 2021 Jingdezhen International Ceramic Art Biennale".
